EATING

There are hundreds of bars and restaurants, most of them very reasonably priced and offering excellent local food. Local dishes include orecchiette con cime di rape – a pasta in the shape of ‘little ears’ served with turnip tops; fave con cicoria, a purée of broad beans with chicory, and, best of all, an amazing variety of antipasti. The local wines are very good and cheap and Ostuni produces its own olive oil which you can buy from the factory or in many shops.
